Sapphire was formed in 2001, the name was chosen since Sapphire energy recovery is and always has been a ‘gem of a company’.

Sapphire Energy Recovery is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tarmac which is part of the global CRH group. CRH is a global diversified building materials group which employs over 89,000 people at around 3,900 locations worldwide. Tarmac is the UK’s leading building materials and construction solutions business.

Sapphire supports the business’ by providing alternative fuels and alternative raw materials to facilitate the plants goals regarding commercial excellence, carbon footprint and future developments.
